The only certainty is that for every new arrival there will be one departing player.
We finished the season with 25 players, and we'll need a 25 men squad at the start of next season.

On the other hand, not every new arrival will have to play the same position as the departing players. For one thing, we need 3 new home grown players and apart from the certainty that one of them will be a GK to replace Rubinho, the other two won't necessarily have to play the same position as the ones they'll replace.
Also, we have way too many midfielders (9) and only 4 CBs, despite playing with 3 CBs almost every match. I believe we should expect a new defender to replace a midfielder.
As for the rest, it's gonna be same role players. If Pjanic comes, a CM leaves. If Alves comes, a RB/RWB leaves, if Berardi comes an attacker leaves and so on.

My best guess right now is:
Homegrown keeper for Rubinho
Homegrown keeper for Neto
Berardi for Morata
Pjanic for Pereyra
Marrone (homegrown) for Hernanes/Asamoah/Padoin
CB for Cuadrado
Alves for Caceres

Everything after this is position for position. Perhaps a new winger ala Cuadrado instead of a CM (Hernanes/Asamoah/Padoin)

What do you think about Pjanic?

Payet knee-jerk wishes now and not after beyond brilliant whole last season, clearest sign Euros started in full swing :D
To be honest I've seen plenty of him this season and he's been brilliant pretty much every time. Just trying to get in to the right Euro mood :D

The best CB in the world by some distance.

€45m for a 30 year old :tuttosport:

and no - 30 isn't old imo, but i'm against signing older players for big money, mostly because they
have no resale value.
He's worth it. Won't happen though as it wouldn't be fair to other teams.

My dream squad:

GKs: Buffon, Mirante, Audero

RBs/RWBs: Alves, Licht

LBs/LWBs: Sandro, Evra

CBs: Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini, Benatia, Rugani

DMs: Marchisio, Mandragora, Marrone

CMs: Pogba, Pjanic, Khedira, Lemina, Sturaro, Pereyra

(AMs: Pjanic, Pereyra)

Ss: Dybala, Cuadrado

CFs: Mandzukic, Morata, Zaza

Obs: it's a 26 men squad, but Mandragora doesn't count as a U18 player.

In bold guys who may not come or may not stay.

HGs: Mirante, Audero, Marchisio, Marrone

I'm against signing benatia.
Give it 4th CB to rugani. Enough with young player does not get enough chance.
Give 5th CB to evra.
