Anyway, this is the perfect oppurtunity to leapfrog everyone to retain our top spot .. Lazio plays Inter while Milan hosts Roma, hope both matches end in draws and we grab the three points against Brescia ..

About our line-up it should be unchanged, except for Biri who is suspended thanks to his red card against Roma, Moretti/Pessotto should replace him ..


Edit: I forgot to mention that the Serie A matches, including ours, will be delayed 15 minutes because of a protest by the Italian Players' Association against the recent attacks on players by opposing fans. The captains of both teams in every match should read something to the fans prior to kick-off ...

I remember him predicting a 6-0 win for Juve in a certain week of the prediction game, I think it must have been summer. Ever since the season changed his optimisty metre took a nose dive.

I think we should be able to collect 3 points easy It's time for our upswing and the squad is teeming and Lippi has a multitude of choice so am looking forward to getting back to the top of the table

Birindelli, Tudor, Trezeguet and Iuliano aren't going to Brescia for the 13th day of Serie A.

Alessandro Birindalli is disqualified after the red card of last Sunday against Roma. Igor Tudor has still some muscular problems. David Trezeguet, who has played in Reggio Calabria for the Coppa Italia, is staying at home as decided with the medical staff. Mark Iuliano has some problems at his left foot

Juventus will attempt to grab their first league win in three matches on Sunday afternoon when they face Brescia, a team that has failed to win in all five of the games played on their Rigamonti stadium pitch this season.

After grabbing a lucky home draw against Bologna two weeks ago, last Sunday the Bianconeri came away with a point from their clash at AS Roma thanks to a late Pavel Nedved goal.

The last gasp draw achieved by Lippi's players in the Olimpico demonstrated this team might not be devastating, but it has enormous character and a huge winning mentality, two qualities that makes Juve stand a step above the rest of the Serie A giants.

Juventus look even more set for grandeur this season after the Coppa Italia win achieved at Reggina on Thursday proved Marcello Lippi can finally count on two fundmental players that missed this early part of the season through injury, left wing Gianluca Zambrotta, and more importantly last year's Serie A golden-boot David Trezeguet.

Conisdering Brescia's terrible home record a draw would suit the Rondinelle fine on Sunday afternoon. However it really does seem unlikely this can occur. Brescia's defense has already conceded 25 goals this season, while their offense has done slightly better, finding the net 14 times so far.

Moreover, Carletto Mazzone's side appears to be lacking two things that allowed Brescia to comfortably remain in the top flight for the last three seasons, a well balanced side and especially an on-form Roberto Baggio.

LATEST TEAM NEWS

Brescia-Striker Luca Toni is still sidelined through injury, while former Juventus midfielder Jonathan Bachini has to serve a one match suspension. Without his influential midfielder Mazzone is expected to field a defensive 5-3-2 formation with Tare and Baggio on the offensive line.

Juventus-Even though he marked his official comeback following a 5 month lay-off in Reggio Calabria on Thursday, David Trezeguet will be watching the game from the stands. Lippi is expected to field an almost identical formation to the one that drew 2-2 in the Olimpico last weekend, except for a slight change on the left wing, where the on-form Zambrotta will replace suspended Birindelli.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Roberto Baggio (Brescia)- This year there has been little of Divino in the Codino. Baggio is getting old, and it appears he still hasn't recovered from the World Cup blow inflicted by Trapattoni. However, as Zola's performances in this season's Premiership goes to show, class is timeless, and Baggio has plenty of more time to perform some magic. Maybe he'll start again tomorrow.

Pavel Nedved (Brescia)-He's the true heart of Juventus, and proved this last week by sealing off the Bianconeri's comeback in the Olimpico. A simply formidable player, whose hunger for victory is totally insatiable.

Alessandro Del Piero may be rested for tomorrow’s trip to Brescia, while Juventus continue their press silence.

The Bianconeri have not spoken to the press since last week’s 2-2 draw with Roma “in order to avoid creating controversy.”

Marcello Lippi fielded a team of reserves in the midweek 2-0 Coppa Italia victory at Reggina and is likely to make more changes on Sunday.

The title holders travel to face Roberto Baggio’s Brescia, but must also prepare for the midweek match with Swiss side Basle in the Champions’ League.

Therefore it is possible that Del Piero will be rested in favour of Marco Di Vaio and Marcelo Zalayeta.

The injured Mark Iuliano and suspended Alessandro Birindelli force changes in defence. Ciro Ferrara and Gianluca Pessotto will be drafted in.

It is Pessotto’s first Serie A start since he ruptured knee ligaments before the World Cup and redesigns a three-man defence.

David Trezeguet made his first official appearance in two months during the Coppa Italia game on Thursday, but he will probably not be seen in Serie A until the New Year.
