that's a bit of a stretch. hank needs a warrant to tap walter's phone, especially if he wants that evidence to be admissible in court. and so far walt think's he's got hank against the ropes with that video he made.
That's just sloppy no matter how you slice it, though. Even the peon 13-year-olds in the hood on The Wire know you don't do anything over the phone that will incriminate you.

Hell, he knows Hank is slipping GPS monitors under the wheel well of his car already.

I doubt what he said would be admissible in court as you said -- which I think the writers conveniently hid behind when they put Walt in cuffs. But admissible or not, the more you divulge the more you give the DEA ammunition to know where to look and what to presume. So it's silly that Walt suddenly became so uncharacteristically careless and sloppy after everything he's done to date.

did he have a warrant when he was tracking Gus? think he said it was "extra-legal" :D
no, i don't think so. that's kinda different tho, if you're tapping a phone you usually need technicians and shit. all he did with gus was stick a gps on his car. almost everyone can do something like that. which he probably did to walt too since he figured out where he was.

I't called Plot Induced Stupidity and it happened a lot in BB. Basically the writers need Walter to be stupid to move the plot forward. The worst example is the book from Gale which Walt left after destroying every single evidence including a stupid flower. The series would have to end in season 5 and half if not for that.

That's actually the only time I can recall that I'm happy to read news of a spinoff series. They tend to be huge Meh as ideas usually. But Saul in just few seasons has become pretty classic TV character.

The lone gunman was good :) Also a Vince Gilligan show.

    Walt's, hands-down.

I'd pork Hank's wife, Marie, as long as I could stuff her undies in her mouth. But Skyler? I'd stuff my own deck in my mouth to avoid that skank.
