Honestly I think the way that it's not polished and shiny like most professional leagues is probably a big part of what attracted me to Serie A. The old-ass, dark looking stadiums. The unhinged players, coaches and fans. It all feels like a throwback.

But it's these same things that are leaving it behind. Didn't take the chance to modernise in the early 2000s and instead continues to kneecap itself with infighting on top of not dealing with the racism, mismanagement and corruption. There's not much I like about modern football, but the reality is unless Calcio moves with it it's dying. And unfortunately we're dying with it.

Ligue 1 has some of the cool stuff I like as well, though. Despite PSG and Monaco it's not totally spoiled yet. But realistically we'll never move there anyway.

UEFA has 55 member states that equally govern an industry which has 90% of value in 5 countries and 99% of value in top 15 countries. Imo that's the root of the problem and the reason why football is run by puppet masters.

Some Slovenian media have reported that UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin lied on the CV used for his first election as UEFA president.
Ceferin is said to have written on his CV that he was a member of the executive committee of the football league of Slovenia for five years and in particular in the Olimpija team. But in reality this would not be the case, as his name did not appear in any minutes of meetings. (Tuttojuve)

I sincerely hope that the Slovenian justice system comes down like a ton of bricks on him.
