Honestly I think the way that it's not polished and shiny like most professional leagues is probably a big part of what attracted me to Serie A. The old-ass, dark looking stadiums. The unhinged players, coaches and fans. It all feels like a throwback.
But it's these same things that are leaving it behind. Didn't take the chance to modernise in the early 2000s and instead continues to kneecap itself with infighting on top of not dealing with the racism, mismanagement and corruption. There's not much I like about modern football, but the reality is unless Calcio moves with it it's dying. And unfortunately we're dying with it.
Ligue 1 has some of the cool stuff I like as well, though. Despite PSG and Monaco it's not totally spoiled yet. But realistically we'll never move there anyway.
