Blanc also has to be careful. That headline could have just as easily been his response to the question of, "Name two teams that have surprisingly fared better than Juve in European cups in recent years."

What a weird thing to say, swag, especially considering Inter, who imo have done nothing but disgraced themselves in the bust-up with Valencia.

Yes, Inter. They've made more CL semi-finals in the past few years than we have.
But hey, Newcastle would have been able to do the same had they instigated a judicial attack on Manchester United and ran away with Cristiano Ronaldo. With Juve out of the way and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their side, they were bound to go pretty far last year. Don't get me wrong, it's good to finish in the last four, but still, they haven't been in a European Cup final for God knows how long. I have to do a Shania Twain on your ass and say that don't impress me much.

i say its quality not nationality that counts....whats our problem if the English suck?:p
its different for you because you dont support england, just an english team, and thats why england will always be the clown of the international football scene because they just buy "quality" foreign players, whilst italy can be proud of their heritage and talent that is just waiting to burst. Italy has the best of both worlds, a fantastic national team, and very competative clubs that can compete abroad.

Yeah, clubs has to contribute to a national team of the country they are located. Arsenal contribute to French NT and to some countries from Africa. Inter to a Argentinian NT and of course they have Materazzi.:D Thats why even Donadoni said that the number of the foreigners have to be restricted.

i think it is regardless from which country players are, as long as they are good. So he cant attack Arsenal, Arsenal searches their player from around the world. Actually there a english player in Arsenal:D:D never heard of him Connely:D:D
But yes he is right there should be a base of italian in the team. But in the last years we had a lot of French players also.

Not really. Italian clubs in Champions League are food for other European teams except Milan. National team is probably 3rd in the world, behind France and Argentina.
