Blaise Matuidi has revealed how Juventus were ‘all dead tired after the match against Manchester United, except Cristiano Ronaldo.’
Ronaldo has started hitting form for Juve since his €112m transfer from Real Madrid over the summer, with seven goals in his last seven Serie A appearances.
“We were all dead tired after the match against Manchester United and the day after, except Cristiano,” Matuidi told RMC Sport.
“He’s been working like crazy ever since he got here. He’s been at it more than anyone else and he told me he ‘had to’ behave like that.
“That’s why at 33, he’s been an example for all of us and given us an extra stimulus. His influence isn’t limited to his work during the week.
“He’s also crucial over the 90 minutes. He can do things that others can’t to help improve the team’s game.
“Everyone feels much stronger alongside him. He’s a leader in this sense.”

Matuidi out for Manchester United? | Football Italia
Juventus’ midfield injury crisis continues ahead of the Manchester United game, as Blaise Matuidi didn’t train yesterday.
Sami Khedira has been out with a muscular injury in recent weeks, while Emre Can is also sidelined after surgery on a thyroid nodule.
That leaves Miralem Pjanic, Rodrigo Bentancur and Matuidi as the Bianconeri’s only central midfielders, but the Frenchman missed training yesterday with bruising he sustained in the win over Cagliari.
While the World Cup winner still has three days to recover for the Champions League tie, he’s a slight doubt to play in Turin.
Douglas Costa also missed training and “underwent physiotherapy treatments for a muscular problem in his left adductors”, with Mario Mandzukic doing only part of the session with his teammates “due to the recurrence of an ankle problem”.
Federico Bernardeschi and Giorgio Chiellini are following personalised programmes, with the Manchester United game to come on Wednesday.

Blasé makes 433 work, without him I don't think there is a point in playing it. Claudio is a legend, but we need someone to cover the ground for 433 and only Blaise can do it.

Have to take the rough with the smooth, part of his job is to run around trying to win the ball. Occasionally he'll do a dumb one there, especially if he's not long been on.
