Hopefully it ends up like the last time.
Last time it has ended with singing no player in summer and a then signing Rincon in winter. :baus:

Hopefully it doesn't end up like this again.

Why would PSG want to rid of him? He's a starter for them (at least started seasons most important matches against Barca) he's probably home grown and hardly their worst midfielder.

Such a sad thing to get up in the morning and read majority of the news how Matuidi is a top priority for us and how we want to sign him.

During the US tour they (La Stampa) asked Matuidi if he's going to join Juve and... he responded only with a smile

He is not that bad

- - - Updated - - -

I cannot see him in a 4-2-3-1 though. To my eyes he is a 4-4-2 kind of midfielder.

- - - Updated - - -

Well, unless he is used as a hybrid left winger. Then yes.

- - - Updated - - -

But again that isn't what we need most.

- - - Updated - - -

I won't mind him for 15m.

Get a proper CM for the sake of mary the mother of god and the sake of fatimah al zahra both.

God damn, I need to see Buffon holding big ears. Or some bacis assumptions about life will seriously change.

for 15m he's obviously a good signing in terms of money/value ratio, but he won't take our midfield anywhere close to the level of Real Madrid or Bayern. sadly it's almost August and Marotta won't be able to simply pull out a topclass CM out of his ass, if we ever had a chance of signing one the talks should've started much earlier.

annoying how the quality of our midfield is the last of our priorities for the second summer running, last summer it was the same when we made several pre-planned signings and spent the last month improvising on CM's, chasing this guy, Witsel and other midfielders lesser teams to Juve would consider disposable

I know I am overthinking this, but could fairness and adequate compensation not be the natural result of Gigi's loyalty?

2015 and 2017 finals will hurt more if we don't reach the final next year (his last year.)

One CM, one CB, and one RB. C'mon Marotta!

I saw that when we smashed barcelona and had the upper hand against madrid in the first half of the final

Is there any way whatsoever to stop this signing from happening?

Why did you mention Barca? Their midfield obviously can't stand up to Bayern or Real Madrid, which is what we should aspire to, not that Rakitič-Iniesta-Mascherano midfield we destroyed

And what happened in the second half of that RM game? As soon as our only WC midfielder couldn't move anymore we had no arguments left whatsoever. don't tell me you don't see a large gap in quality between Modrič-Kroos-Casemiro and Pjanič-Khedira-(Marchisio)

- Matuidi's contract ends soon.
- Emery still wants to keep him.
- PSG made an offer to renew him already, actually they did it twice, but Matuidi wants an even bigger salary than that.
- PSG is not willing to make him a top 3 salary of the club.
- Matuidi already said he felt bad about PSG not wanting to keep him at all costs (because PSG refused to give him the salary he wants). It was seen as an insult to him.

That's all there's to it. It's about money, but since Antero Henrique landed, it's reported that he said that PSG is done with overpaying players unless special cases like what they are doing with Neymar (which will never come IMO).
