I appreciate the effort Juveadam put into his post,but putting Milan below Ajax,Barcelona and Benfica is just not right.For some neutrals,Milan might even be above Juventus.They deserve to be in the top 5 without a question.The top 5 should consist of Real,Liverpool,Juventus,Bayern and Milan,in no particular order.

its only natural that people come up with names,like milwall,Mothwerwell or Kastoria.

Kastoria is very very close to the town that i live,its in north-west Greece.Kastoria is in the 2nd greek division.

Id say:

Real: 50's, 60's
Bayern: 70's
Liverpool: 80's
Bayern, Milan and Juve: 90's
Real/Bayern: Early 00's
Milan: mid 00's

How can you say a CL is worth 2 league titles?

It should be worth 5...because Lyon wins the league constantly, but if they won a CL it would only be as big a success as winning their league twice over?

UEFA cup should be 2 league titles, and a CL should be 5.

Then recalculate and tell me.

Its worth 2 "big league" wins (4 points) which makes in worth 3 French league titles, about right to me.

Milan are way behind on league wins, althougth their recent CL win puts them nearer the giant clubs. They are level with Manchester, about right I think. If you look at it they have won the CL once, & nothing else in the last 4 years, since 03. The other teams on that list have been much more consistant & Milan went through an awful spell prior to 86 & Berlusconi, being relegated twice in that time, if memory serves.

If you wanted to do it right..I'd say that no matter what the league, 10 points for a league, 8 for a league cup, 30 for a UEFA Cup, 15 for an Intertoto/Intercontinental Cup or whatever, and 50 for a CL.

Because no matter what the league, the challenge is still the same for that team....

So it may be just as hard for Ajax to win the Eridivisie, or Lyon Ligue 1 as it is for Milan or Juve of old to win the Scudetto...

The size and difficulty of the league is exactly proportional to the strenth of the teams, so the strongest French team may be 4th or 5th in Serie A....so the leagues should not be multiplied needlessly.

It's just as difficult for the French to win the French league as it is Milan to win Italy. Because if you say the overall strength of the leagues is proportioned directly to the strength of teams in said leagues, then you should not need to multiply them.

Multiplying them suggests that Lyon and Milan and Bayern are all equally as good as each other, the other teams just do not match up equally. That's not true. Bayern is better than Lyon, but not as good as Milan.....

Well there in lies how the cups are played....it's easier to win the Coppa Italia because they are played in 2 legs, whereas the Deutsche Pokal is only one leg and if you are the away team, you are blown. Also in the FA Cup and the Deutsche Pokal, all the teams in the nation are eligible and may have 6 or 8 games in the Pokal, where in the Coppa Italia, you have two legs, but maybe only 2 or 3 rounds......so you could go as deep as looking into who were the away teams....blah blah.

It may be six to one, half dozen the other.
