OK, using what from now on shall be forever known as "The Burke Method" (TM), here are the european club rankings;

Real Madrid - 1006
Bayern Munchen - 627
Juventus - 623
Benfica - 612
Milan - 558
Ajax - 546
Barca - 507
Liverpool - 496
Manchester - 293

Sure the elevation of Bayern meets your approval Burke, as will the rise of Milan to some. Have to admit being surprised at Benfica staying so high in table, but their level of domestic success is amazing. The post-Hysel ban has obv made the cases for english clubs slightly unfavourable, but the domination of Milan in those years would mean the difference only being minimal.

Juve are more successful than Milan. Milan have more International trophies but Juve have more domestically. If you add up both International and domestic trophies won by both clubs, you will see Juve have more.

Real Madrid are the biggest.

No, I didn't think that would happen, but what numbers did you decide to use?

I think World Soccer magazine used a way very similar to this a couple years ago.

Off to class now boys, take it easy....see you flipside.

You just can't compare CL and scudetto. One can win the CL with luck, but you can't win a league title on luck. Sometimes the scudetto is harder, sometimes the cl. It depends on the road to the final, referee decisions and just general football luck in a game.

Italy:Juventus
England:Liverpool
Spain:Real Madrid
German:Bayern Munich
France:Lyon
Portugal: Porto
Greece: P.A.O.K.
How long can Liverpool stay ahead of Man U in all these things when they haven't come close to winning a league in almost 20 years?

I'm not saying they are or they aren't, just seems Liverpool maybe over respected on the basis of 20+ years ago and a couple of recent CL runs.

It’s Real Madrid, closely followed by Man United and then there are 4 or 5 teams including Milan, Juventus, Bayern, Barca and quite possibly Arsenal who have been completely underestimated.

Arsenal are a bigger club than Liverpool in terms of fan support, RECENT success and wealth. Arsenal are the richest club in England as well so they have to be in it.

Lyon is definitely not the biggest club in France. Obviously in present they are but they still have a lot to do in order to reach Marseille in number of trophies.

Arsenal has been to one CL final...which they lost....have less than 5 league titles I think, and have one or two FA Cups..

That is the dumbest post I've seen in a fortnight.
Word. Arsenal is behind Man. United and Liverpool. But you were wrong in league titles. Arsenal trophies here:

Well the Premier League is a MUCH more competitive league than say, oh I don’t know… The Bundesliga?

Whilst the Bundesliga has teams like Bayern, Schalke, Bremen and Stuttgart… The Premier League has Chelsea, Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool, who are all much bigger clubs than all of them other than Bayern. So whilst Bayern have ruled the Bundesliga, that’s around the equivalent of an EPL team finishing in the top 4 or 5…

You completely underestimate how big Arsenal are. They are not far off Manchester United and are undoubtedly bigger than Liverpool. Not only are they the richest club in England, other than United they have the biggest support and for the last 15 years have had the most success other than United.

They fill there stadium every game at inflated ticket prices and have a season ticket waiting list of over 50 thousand people. To get on the waiting list you have to be a member (£20) and then there is an additional fee of £15 to join the list.

Obviously people have put Liverpool on there list because of the 05 Champions League win, but for people who have been following the EPL for the past 15 years or so know Arsenal are a bigger club.

Forget the recent stuff. By your logic then, history doesn´t count at all?

Tell me, how can a team which has never been European champion and have at least 5 domestic titles less than Liverpool be considered bigger than them?

Of course you can say that. But then I can say Arsenal has a proven bigger fan base and more annual income than Liverpool. I know what I’d consider to be more valuable to a “bigger club”. History is great, so don’t get be wrong. But I’d prefer to make history than have history.

Actually I took that into consideration :p.

I genuinely would like to see Bayern in the EPL though… 5th-6th-7th finish? I think so.
