It proved to be a long but largely satisfactory weekend for the on-loan Bianconeri youngsters gaining experience in the top two tiers of Italian football.
In Serie A, Bologna handed another start to Sorensen and brought Pasquato off the bench during their goalless shutout with Lazio at the Dall’Ara. Gabbiadini, however, missed out on the encounter through suspension.
Dropping down a division, Boakye continued his fine goalscoring run with the opening strike in Sassuolo’s derby win over Modena, while Castiglia netted a brace as Vicenza shared the spoils in a 3-3 thriller with Livorno. Pinsoglio and Giandonato also featured for the Biancorossi.
Elsewhere, Maniero was named in Ternana’s starting line-up for the first time since joining the club, while Spinazzola got some vital minutes under his belt for a revitalised Empoli outfit.
