    Hagi.

I agree with that because these players were damned influential club and country respectively for the most part of that decade.

Let's face it, Zz and DP were a mid to late 90s thing. The divine ponytail was a carry over from the 80s and didn't have much influence in the late 90s...

    Any others?

Correct me if I am wrong!

I watched football since the mid 90's and Del Piero really got himself a precious place in my heart, introducing me to Calcio. Making me love football and Juventus. He really was the best player to watch during that time. If it werent for Del Piero, I probably would've hated Juventus and Serie A. And followed Arsenal cuz Freddie Ljungberg played there, or Barcelona cuz Ronaldinho played there. And I would bash Italy and call them damn divers, bad loosers. Spaghetti eaters... But Del Piero secured my future ;) He showed me the passion of Italian soccer. He is Italys pride. I have to thank him for many great moments. the greatest Footballing moments in my life. (yet).

Eric Cantona...he singled handled changed Man Utd's philosphy, making it possible to dominate the EPL for years...

    Roy Keane
    Baggio
    Zizou

All equally deserve to be there...

EDIT: What a crap list...No disrespect to the players on it, but they missed loads of players...Anyway, Peter Schmeichel is who I voted for, best goalkeeper ever...

ronaldo from barça years with robson. 35 goals in la liga some of them "impoaaible" like the ones against celta vigo and valencia.

without a doubt the best of all, by far. he was an alien.

You are a fool if you dont think that, I'll forgive you because you obviously never seen him, he is the greatest goalkeeper ever without a doubt, there is no keeper to get close to how good he was...

Are you joking? No, I dont know Lev Yashin, I know he is a legendary Russian Goalkeeping hero from the 30s or 40s, but erm, I wasnt born, and I like to make my own opinions on players, not what people say about players, again with Zoff I wasnt born when he played, but again I've heard he was a great goalkeeper, as for Buffon, he is definitely No.1 in the world today, but better then Schmeichel? The man who led DENMARK to a European Championship? On there best forms, Schmeichel is better, he singled handedly made it so what when players we're "One on one with the goalkeeper" people expected the goalkeeper to get it...thats how good he was, if you never seen him, dont be disrespectful to say he wasnt great, cause it is stupid, he was as great as anyone I have ever seen...

Peter Schmeichel was great, But I make ya sure Buffon will remmbered as a better keeper...
That's gonna take quite some effort on Buffon's part.

Schmeichel won countless titles and was three heads above any other goalkeeper on the planet at the time. IMO Buffon doesn't get quite as much glory as Schmeichel did during his career. Of course Gigi has a lot of time to cement himself up there with the best, but beating the Great Dane for status won't be a walk in St. James' Park

I know it won't be easy I have seen a lot of Peter Schmeichel and he is a stunning goalie, but I'm sure Buffon will even become better ;:
