Best cities to live does not equal to best cities to visit.
You rate it by quality of life, living standard, if there is such term, the "stress" you endur living in the city.
In terms of that, Vancouver is one of the best place to live (i am biased though, but then I have lived in Hong Kong, Japan, Oslo and Copenhagen and I still find vancouver the best place to LIVE)

I've been there (Victoria), last time I checked there were just a bunch of homeless people on the streets, nothing special. :p

Didn't think Vancouver was that nice either, can't understand why they would rate it #1.
Vancouver's dirty. It's got one of the shady'ests' downtowns I've ever been to.

And funny you said it, I was reading the University newspaper today and it was estimated that there are a total of 800 homeless people in Victoria - all of whom are a bunch of tree-huggin, anti-corporate, radical activists with no real cause...

My parents complained a lot of living in HK though

I've also spent a month in Vienna. It's like Brussels with the exception that it has a breath-taking architectural heritage and, from what I've seen, is totally crime-free.
Its good that tourists believe that we are crime free. We are defenetly not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did specify "from what I've seen".

Actually I wasn't there as a tourist, I was working. I would take the last metro every night from one end of the city to the other with a group of girls, and was pleasantly surprised to find out there wasn't any sign of crime whatsoever, unlike in most other cities at that hour.
Wow, thats cool. I have faced a lot of crime in Vienna. It became a lot worse in the last four years!

You have good knowledge of Iran, however, a "burqa" is not necessary. Covering the hair is enough (and most young girls barely cover it anyway, especially in Tehran :)).
Sorry, I remembered it wrong then. What in my opinion is so strange with Iran is that it's government seems to come from the 1800s, while half the population (especially in the cities) are as western as it gets. You could get into serious trouble with the US if you keep up that nuclear program btw.

I've been to Vancouver for over a week and I must say I liked it, pretty decent holiday place, food was ok, great people(in more ways than one :)).
