Benjani Move Back On?
The FA Premier League have stated that they will re-examine the paperwork pertaining to Benjani's move from Portsmouth to Manchester City, meaning that the ill-fated switch could be back on...
Benjani's late switch from Portsmouth to Manchester City appeared to have come just too late for the transfer window, meaning that the striker was to remain at Fratton Park.
This was an unsatisfactory arrangement for all sides, most notably because Pompey had just splashed out on Spurs' Jermain Defoe, meaning that they had a deficit of cash and a surfeit of strikers.
However, there could be good news for all concerned, after it was revealed that the Premier League were willing to examine the transfer's paperwork.
The Zimbabwean forward did not complete his medical until after the transfer deadline had passed, but the Premier League are to check if all other documentation was received on time. If so, the late completion of the medical and its associated paperwork may have a blind eye turned to it.
Manchester City - and Benjani himself - will eagerly await developments.
