NUOVI CONTATTI DOMANI

Di Marzio says that we are meeting with Schalke tomorrow to reach an agreement over the price + method of payment. Let's hope this one is wrapped up ASAP and doesn't drag on until the end of the mercato and not eventuate like Draxler and Witsel.

I don't know the player very well but if he's so good why is he that cheap?
Looking at his career stats and I'm asking the same question. No other teams looking at the low cost and saying we want him? Maybe it's the nagging injuries that a poster here mention about him? That being said I would hope Juve gets him loan/buy whatever.

Maybe 2014 is lights years away soccer wise, but played every minute of every match for World Cup Germany and showed BL versatility by playing LB entire tourney, Bund career says 80% CB and 20% RB. Won't be LB here but no doubt could fill in as RB.

Looking past this season Howedes can be part of a CB rotation when Chellini probably gets last time and Rugani and Caldara become regulars. The guy looks to be that solid defender Juve needs wherever he plays on the backline.

Here's a comparison of Howedes and another player stats from their respective league club career. Howedes has played 28K+ minutes, scored 23 with 13 assists while receiving 44 yellow cards. The other has played 31K+ minutes, scored 23 goals with 9 assists while receiving 71 yellow cards.

The other, Leonardo Bonucci. Not saying he's as good as Bonucci and of course numbers aren't everything, but appears he could fit in nicely at Juve. Could be a too good to be true deal.

The last "old" defender we got from Germany was Barzagli so yeah, I'd be psyched if Howedes were to have a similar career here.

Liverpool double Juve's Howedes bid?
Benedikt Howedes wants to join Juventus,
confirmed Schalke 04, but the Bundesliga club expect double the current offer and look to Liverpool.

“Howedes told me he wanted to leave for Juventus,” sporting director Christian Heidel said yesterday.

The Bianconeri are offering to take the defender on loan with obligation to buy for a total €10m.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Schalke expect double that, as they hope Liverpool will step up the bidding war with €20m on the table.

Tuttosport claim that Juventus directors will contact Schalke today to discuss the situation further, but the Turin giants have no intention of putting more than €10m into the operation.

That reminds of FM 2005. You bid 4m, they ask for 7, you bid 4.5, they ask for 6.5 and so on. Then some AI team bids 15 and gets him.

This is starting to be a Bollywood movie saga.Luckily we watched part 1 with Draxler last year.If true we should stop doing business with fucking Schalke in future.

One of Schalke's higher paid players and thinking maybe Schalke wants to unload him for that?

People in the locker room not liking him at all because he pussied out of games with 'injury' while he told teammates he was fit, as the captain. Was there when it happened. Of course during very tough times at Schalke. At the same weekend (day after the game) going out getting drunk, smoking.. (seen that myself)
A mentality problem... can't go more into details on a public forum sorry. But like I said.. this was a few years ago and I can only hope he changed when he actually comes here. Before all that I actually liked and rated him a lot.
Seeing he has fat contract for roughly 6 mil a year makes me hope the above "word on the street" isn't true.
