He is a very good player. But besides the versatility of covering the fullback positions, he is not someone we should sign to play there, he just keeps his positioning and doesnt move up. We need more there.

But as CB backup, he is a fine very good choice. Only thing ideal isnt he isnt a passing CB and is more of a Chiellini, but is really solid choice nontheless.

But weirdly enough he is also little injury prone, so lets just hope if we get him he doesnt break down same time as the rest.

I read that he also was stripped of captain armband, so it may be a conflict with the coach.
I was actually very surprised that he wasn't stripped of the the captain's armband earlier. I liked him as a player a few years ago but I have heard and seen things I don't like at all with him and in no way would anyone at Juve like that mentality here. I can only hope he really has changed all that. But I see why a new coach would not want him as his captain.

People in the locker room not liking him at all because he pussied out of games with 'injury' while he told teammates he was fit, as the captain. Was there when it happened. Of course during very tough times at Schalke. At the same weekend (day after the game) going out getting drunk, smoking.. (seen that myself)
A mentality problem... can't go more into details on a public forum sorry. But like I said.. this was a few years ago and I can only hope he changed when he actually comes here. Before all that I actually liked and rated him a lot.

I'm pretty sure we wouldn't see that shit here.

If there's any club that shapes player into men then that's us.

Like you said, he has the quality and that's what matters imo.

Man, we cant even get the proper German hard man? :D He seems so tough on the pitch, ridicolous if he is a little disloyal bitch off it lol.

Does this mean Garay is not coming then?

Great signing. Can cover any position in the backline and cover them more than competently. Not really the RB/LB backup we are after, but I'd happily watch him start for us over the likes of Asamoah or Lichtsteiner.

Not a bad "panic buy" at all tbh. Very good player. Compare him to our previous late in the mercato buys/loans like Traore, Bendtner, Hernanes etc :D

We are signing Sissoko though.
