The Uzbek Artur Taymazov won the gold medal in 120 kg freestyle wrestling while the Russian Bakhtiyar Akhmedov got the silver. You count both these two medals for USSR though only one of those wrestlers could qualify for the Olympics if they both were playing for the Soviet Union

Yeah, well, we'll compensate that with the team sports medals. The USSR would've had much stronger teams in basketball, handball etc if they were united and they'd have won more medals than they did as separate states.

That's exactly why i mentioned your swimming team in such context. You keep repeating how China's cheating and your main argument is the childish face of their gymnastics.
Using your logic i have all the rights to claim that the US swimmers were cheating by using illegal substances. After all, it's really unbelievable for someone to swim so fast and break all the records. And we're not talking about Phelps only, but many other swimmers. It's suspicious, he ?

To sum up, i don't think the US swimming team was cheating and i don't watch gymnastics so i have no idea what was going on there. But you're accusing them for cheating WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE and you don't like it when someone accuses your sportists for doing the same.
Also, since you're American and your country is second placed and losing to China......this all sounds like sour grapes to me.

Well, if Vinman can call Russia the Soviet Union, then why shouldn't we all call them that way ? But if we call them USSR then we should also count the medals of all the Soviet countries as one.
And when we do that it turns out that, as always, the USSR are better than the US.
