I'm confused. You don't sound like Fli, he's much more bitter if I recall correctly. But who on earth would put Lithuania as their home country ...

Hello Gogol, I'm Sally.

Is anyone actually going to talk about the olympics............

The worst thing I saw when the countries were marching is when Bahraini delegate was carrying their "king"'s picture.

And what the hell is Kiribati??

This thread is about the Olympics. Not about the politics. If anyone is really bugged about why China is hosting the Olympics,or if someone is bugged about why other people are bugged about China holding the Olympics, take it to some other thread. There was a thread in the Hangout section about it.Dig it out,and take your argument there.Dont bring politics into this thread. It will lead to stupid arguments, which will lead to warnings and infractions.

Stick to the Olympics.DO NOT bring Politics here.

Thanks for that. Yawns were growing at the political stuff in here.

Great opening ceremony, really liked it. The countdown, globe, drummers, lighting of the flame. Amazing.

Yes, those things were great but much of the things in between were tedious and pointless. You highlight the problems with all ceremonies, including this one. Remove the unnecessary bits, keep the cool stuff, and cut it down to 20-30 minutes.

Can't argue with that, the whole walking the flag around was dragging on too long.

I can't see London matching this either, will be very cringe to see that one.

I agree...

So much time was used for nothing...I didn't see anything innovative except the torch thing.

Couldn't agree more, it was insanely long. They should give an hour and a half for opening, closing, and the actual art portion of it. And give another 45 minutes for all the nations to be introduced, that part is by far the most tedious.

That's 2:15h in all, much better.
