what makes you think so?
Well, I expect Bechks to go back to England this summer (either Aston Villa or Chelsea), where he will be getting less money. And he probably does not care, since he is making much more off the advertisement campaigns + he has quite a rich wife.

That being true Ronaldo will top the list and will probably keep getting the money he is getting now until 2006-07 season when he will be kicked out.

Zidane- I expect him to retire fairly soon. If Real has as poor of a season next year it may even happen in the summer of 2005.

Vieri- will leave Inter no matter what this summer. His performance at EURO will be directly related to how much he is worth + how much he will be making in a new club next year. But whatever the case is, he will be making less than what he gets in Inter now.

Del Piero- very difficult to predict. Blind guess would be that his package stays the same.

I think he'll stay. Even if he does leave, how in blue hell are Villa gonna afford Becks' transfer fee, let alone his wages?! And do you really think they'd get the same kind of sponsorship money and revenue from replica shirt sales as they do if he plays for such an unglamorous club? :undecide:

The rest of your points - fair enough ;)

But Real made so much money on the sale of his jerseys - they probably don't care.

that's bullshit, as if Real Madrid are gonna stop caring about cashing in on him. They're a business just like anyone else, and their primary goal is to generate profit. They're not gonna think "Oh well, we made a lot of money so let's sell him for 5m". They're gonna flog this dead horse as much as they can

And not a single piece of hardware this year is going to be among them. ;)
Actually, if I'm not mistaken, there's a pretty good chance that none of these Top 10 will win any silverware this season.

Perhaps you get what you pay for...

Wow swag, that's a very real possibility. How funny would that be, if the highest paid players in the world won squat while Fernando Morientes (whose wages are being paid mostly by Real Madrid  ) is winning the Champions League :D

To me it does not make much difference- who plays in Real. I care about Real loosing, not winning.

As for Beckham- I never liked that doll, even though sometimes he's showing some great football.

Yeah... but at least one of them will be crowned as a European Champ, and as history has shown- player from the winning team usually gets the golden ball award (Except Kahn from the last WC I think).

As a golden ball winner one will probably get more publicity, more contracts and consequently- more cash...

Beckham said that he'll consider returning to old trafford if and if only Ferguson leaves.

seems to me that its rather serious between those two.
