Bayern Eye Podolski (5 Viewers)

Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has revealed that he is looking to bring Cologne striker Lukas Podolski to the Olympiastadion.

The 19-year-old Germany international, who has scored 19 goals in Bundesliga Zwei this season, is contracted at the RheinEnergie Stadion until 2007, but Hoeness has revealed that he is definitely keen to bring the promising starlet to Bayern.

Cologne president Wolfgang Overath has repeatedly stressed that his club are not prepared to sell Podolski before the end of his current contract, despite previous interest from French giants Monaco.

However, Bayern's financial muscle could make a big money bid difficult to resist, with Hoeness admitting that 2007 will be the year in which an approach is made.

''He has not signed any sort of pre-contract with us, but the fact of the matter is that we are very interested in Lukas. We want to sign him in 2007,'' Hoeness told Bild.

good morning Bürke :D ... you aren't new here, are you?

The transfer talk is only for transfers dealing with Juventus!!!!
(and not with Podolski "the brain". Do you know that he is soooo dumb? Everybody who understands German shouldn't miss an interview - pure fun!!!!)

and finally moved...

The sad thing about German league is that whenever some player starts to shine, Bayern gets them right away just like that. Its like all the other German clubs are Bayern's feeders. Almost all thier players were bought from thier rival clubs.

Lets see-- Lucio, Diesler, Ballack (never really impressed since his move to Bayern), Ze Roberto, Frings, Hashemian, Kovac, and more....

Funny thing is Bayern still suffers all the time domestically.

Well, ballack hasn't gotten better, he was 27 when we got him, he is getting older.

Hashemian is a joke, i hate him.

kahn, Hargreaves, Kuffour, Schweinsteiger are about the only players I can think of that actually came through our youth system.

    How do we suffer domestically?

So i take it that Ballack is now 29/30. He's not that old for that excuse. Ballack was awesome at Liverkusen, where he lead the team to CL final, only to lose to Real (that time Real in a good shape), only to screw up winning the League on the last day, and to lose german cup final, Not to mention WC2002 final. I really liked him, but ever since he moved to Bayern, he's changed totally.

Hashemian rarely plays at all. Your being unreasonable. And imo he is better than that joke of a player Gurrero who was totally usesless againt chelsea.

Considering Bayern always takes players from thier rivals all the time, you'd expect them to win the league consistantly, but in fact, thats not the case at all.

You are right about Ballack, he just got a lot of money in a contract and slumped.

But there is no way Hashmian is better than Guerrero. Guerrero is like Santa Cruz in the way that they are good ball handlers, good at setting up the other striker. He is 19, biggest game he has ever been in, he was alone up top, and he is not suted for a single striker role.

Don't give me this Hashemian rap, noodles. You are just mad because the best player from your country can't even start in GERMANY! Get out of here.

But, Santa Cruz just resumed training, Makaay and Pizarro were injured, and Hashemian was whining about how bad he is. I saw a quote from him that said, "Why did you even buy me?"

They do win the league consistantly.

    2nd last year
    1st before that
    3rd before that
1st before that, hold on I will get the actual stats.

    18x Deutscher Meister
    (31/32; 68/69; 71/72; 72/73; 73/74; 79/80; 80/81; 84/85; 85/86; 86/87; 88/89; 89/90; 93/94; 96/97; 98/99; 99/00; 00/01; 02/03)

Ohh, and don't even start on the European subject with this team.

Guerrero might and probably will have the potenial to become better. That was a really stupid decision by the Bayern coach to play him as a lone striker in a big match such as Chelsea, with his heihgt, and his lack of experience. Hashemian would have suited much better in a lone striker situation considering he's tall and strong, and is good in the air.

I'm not mad because "best player in my country cant start". Come to think of it, he's not even the "best player of my country". He doesnt even make top 3 imo.

What do you expect him to say then?? that "i love warming the bench even when the first choice striker are injured"?? Give me a break.

I meant like 5/6 times in a row, considering that they're the only world class team from Germany.

We did not want height, we wanted to try to control the ball, THAT is why Guerrero started. We didn't want a strike man up there, we wanted someone who could handle the ball well, AND strike if need be.

Ok, I couldn't care less about Hashemian.

Only world class team in Germany?

Didn't Dortmund beat Juve a couple of years ago for the CL title?

I mean, I don't remember, I just wanted to know, did they, like around '97?

Then thats the stupidest thing ever. because a short attacter as him cant do anything at all, without a striking partner. Specially againsts a defence solid as chelsea's.

If you consider Dortmund to be a world class, then Porto, Monaco, PSV are world class as well. These teams are one-timers. Athough Dortmund might have been better team than others over years, but still not good enough to be considered as world class.

    True about Dortmund.

But you must not understand, we were trying to walk out of Stamford Bridge with a draw. We wanted a ball handler, not a true striker up top.

We wanted to attempt to control the pace of play. But it got out of hand, and yes, Guerrero was not much help.

I thought Kahn spent his youth at Karlsruhe and later moved to bayern.

That is right, but we still got him when he was really young.
Oh ic, coz I met some locals a while ago who were talking about how their son and Kahn used to train together when they were young at Karlsruhe.
