I love some of the promotional news photos I've seen for this flick, though. Ben Affleck looks so bored out of his skull like he'd rather be anywhere else.

TBH, I trust Tomatometer most of the time.

The idea of Batman and Superman in one movie was always an awful idea, but I'll give it a shot and see myself. Also, Ben Affleck getting negative reviews for playing a beloved superhero? Can't say that wasn't expected.

Basically it's not Marvel, so it must suck.
Indeed. Avengers Age of Ultron was an awful superhero movie but it has 70+% on RT. Iron Man 3 was even worse but there it is with 79%. Basically you can't do wrong if you have Marvel's logo attached.

Exactly and Sharknado has a 82% score

Some of the complaints that I've heard are its too dark and gritty and theres no jokes.

I mean come on if you went into this movie expecting bright and colourful tones then you truly are an idiot.

Gonna see this tomorrow regardless but I think this movie will be as divisive as Man Of Steel was which the critics despised but I loved.

This was the case with MoS too. Basically all these so called TOP CRITICS go to a superhero movie expecting a Marvel movie. They are so used to these movies being full of random jokes, random love stories and general light tone that they can't accept another approach. Maybe they are subconsciously identifying comic books with childish stories when this is not the case for the last 20-30 years. The only exception to this is TDK Trilogy but it has more to do with Christopher Nolan who made the movies as grounded to reality as it was possible (and I loved them all).

For example, I consider Watchmen to be better than any Marvel movie but it was generally panned and has a low RT score (65%).

I expect BvS to have around 30% difference between critics score and audience score. Man of Steel has 20% difference (56% critics - meaning rotten, 76% audience - meaning fresh).

Or maybe they just hate Zack Snyder. That would explain everything.

The fuck are you talking about? Bats and Supes have been featured with and against each other in comics many times, and it's being used here to kick start Justice League. How is that an awful idea?
