i have to agree that schweini is not a player that is worth a transfer to juve

Quaresma is no doubt better but he is negotiating with Madrid supposedly. And I doubt we have the finances to buy him because he would probably cost over 25 million Euros.

I am not too sure whether Schweinsteiger would be that good a buy but from what I have seen of him he is pretty good. I think rather than comparing him to Quaresma who is probably one of the top 3 or 4 wingers in the world we should compare him to Mancini or someone we are more linked with.

I would probably want Mancini just because I know more about him and he does well in Italy.

Quaresma didn't do anything in barca, and he was given the chance to do that, and don't compare him to c.ronaldo because at the same age ronaldo was a starter with man.utd

In part, I think Quaresma is a bit like Totti -- much more effective being a big fish in a small, hometown pond. But remember that Quaresma was younger than Giovinco is now when he was at Barca, and then he busted his foot and cut his season short. And when C Ronaldo was 20, he wasn't exactly lighting up things at a ManU that finished behind Arsenal and Chelsea.

although i agree that quarimsa is miles ahead of schweini in regards to talent. Bastian had more impact on the international stage than Quaresma. He was fundamental in that world cup while quaresma was playing with the u-21s.

Juve Prepare Schweinsteiger Move

Juventus are preparing a bid for Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to Kicker.

The Bianconeri have long identified a top-class midfielder as their number one transfer priority this summer.

This has led to a host of big names being linked to Turin, including the likes of Diego, Rafael van der Vaart, Frank Lampard and Marek Hamsik.

However negotiations for these players have not gone well, and Juve received a big blow when Alessio Secco was outfoxed by Milan in his attempts to sign Arsenal star Mathieu Flamini.

According to Kicker, Juve have now turned their attention to Schweinsteiger. The 23-year-old grew up in Bayern’s youth system, debuting for the senior team in 2002.

Despite his relatively young age, he has already won 49 caps for the German national team, scoring an impressive 13 goals. He played at both Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006, where Germany were defeated by Italy in the semi finals.

Kicker also claims that Juve are considering trying to hijack Milan’s attempts to sign Willy Sagnol. The Rossoneri have reportedly already agreed a €5m transfer fee with Bayern for the French full-back, but Juve are prepared to match this offer.

he had one season there when he was 19, you cant possibly judge him based on that season!!. If things were done like that, Manure would've sold Ronaldo a long time ago, he wasnt exactly setting the world alight in his first season with the Mancs.

I lost faith in Schweinsteiger a long time ago. And here we go again, the same old story like last summer. We lose our primary targets and then we panic and end with flops in our hands. Is it that hard for Juve today to make a great transfer? FFS, just evaluate things properly and concentrate on a smaller group of targets (small shortlist) and then move on fast to secure their signings. We are certainly a more attractive outfit for good players now than we were last summer.

We did good by signing Mellberg, and it would be great to wrap up Amauri and bring De Ceglie, Marchisio and Giovinco back. Now we should continue with the same path and bring a great midfielder (or 2) and a defender.
