Juve Beat Barça In Gamper Match

Juventus beat Barcelona on penalties in the invitational Joan Gamper Trophy match in Camp Nou after the two giants drew 2-2.
Neither side started the match with full-strength sides, but there was still plenty of quality on display in their friendly encounter that came only days before the start of both the Spanish and Italian league seasons.
Leo Messi was outstanding throughout and deservedly won the player of the match award as he once again proved why is so highly regarded with a range of mazy runs and silky passes.
Juve took the lead after 11 minutes through Alessandro Del Piero and it was not until midway through the second period when the home side drew level through Andrés Iniesta.
Barcelona then took the lead when Gio Van Bronkhorst stole forward to net, but the Serie A sisde equalised in the 79th minute when David Trezeguet scored from the penalty spot.
The match then went to penalties to find a victor and Juve came out 4-2 winners after Samuel Eto'o and rafa Márquez failed to convert from 12 yards.
