Whats important to you people here btw?The knowledge,or the grade?I mean if you could get great grades without learning jackshit in class, would you be happy?
I definitely wouldn't. I want to speak Italian fluently and getting great grades without learning anything won't get me there. As for my education in history.. the most important part is writing papers. What we have to do in class isn't that much and it's just something you have to study really. It's difficult for a professor to fuck that up.

Depends on the class really. For the classes that actually apply to what I will be doing the futurem I want to learn everything about it and more. I need a good professor for that. For example, my Pattern Making class I had the most incompetent teacher in the world and I learned absolutely nothing but I got an A and was not satisfied because I actually needed that knowledge to make my own pieces and design outfits properly. But for my Interpersonal class, I could care less if I don't get an A I would be pissed. Its a filler course and it should do just that. I have other classes to be learning about which are much more important to me.

I hate "respected" teachers who are just famous, and doing a number of jobs at the same time.
I'd want my professors to be one because they actually like teaching, not because it looks good to be called 'Prof. Shitnut'.

I had one who was a senator, and during his lectures he would just read from his textbook that didn't change since five years or so. Hell, he even got an assistant to put his book on the right page in his desk before he would arrive.
One time, he even distributed his campaign flyers during an exam. How fucked up is that.

Some professors only see their students as prospective book sales for the textbooks that are written by them and nothing else.Shame.

Getting an easy grade is one thing but when you have nutters who are teaching the core part of your syllabus then thats really effed up...you need the knowledge to pass the damn course or else be screwed. If its an easy class and you can get the grade without much effort then yay but how often is that really gonna happen..not for every class right.

i know exactly what you mean. my environmental law teacher is a big shot environmental lawyer, you can tell he is very smart and he knows his stuff, but his lectures are powerpoints that came with the book. you can tell he hasnt even read them before, because he takes 1 minute on every slide to figure out what it is saying. We got the exam today and because the fucker is out west taking ski lessons you could tell the exam was written quickly, spelling mistakes everywhere (i might be exaggerating a bit).

also, he made us do case briefs that we were supposed to use on the exam as references/precedents and after the first two never bothered marking them. Of course it took me and the other guys 5-8 hours to came up with those 2 case briefs he never bothered correcting
