The Italy Under-19s have progressed through to the elite round of European Championship qualifiers despite slipping to a 2-1 defeat in their final Group 7 game against Belgium.
Alberigo Evani’s young guns were able to hold off the challenge of Belarus to secure second spot by virtue of their fractionally superior goal difference.
The result sees Bianconeri duo Daniele Rugani and Stefano Padovan head home happy after playing a significant part in securing the Azzurrini’s safe passage through to the next round.
Rugani featured in all three qualifiers, while Padoin hit a double in Italy’s opener against Albania.
