Because the quality of the game has regressed. Yes, players are faster and fitter but it's more about pace and athleticism - it has lost its beauty. The last great national team was, well I can't even remember. It's been that long. Perhaps Spain in 2012.

Also priorities and interests can change as you age. I definitely don't feel as passionately about football as I did in my teens or early twenties. Back then football was without a doubt numero uno in terms of priorities, nowadays I have many things that are more important to me.
