Would things have been different should Verratti and De Rossi have a bit of help? Would Isco had looked so world class? Not at all taking away his performance but you have to raise the question.

4-2-4 against a possession playing nation, especially with a false #9 still gets me. What an inept piece of management. And to stick with it the whole game knowing Spain were more than happy with our windscreen wiper style of play gets me pissed. I don't blame the players. Ventura hung them out to dry.
As soon as I saw the team and the formation I knew they were going to be dismantled.

4-2-4 :sergio:
Immobile :sergio:
Candreva (given his form) :sergio:
Spinazzola at LB with back 4 :sergio:

There simply wasn't any movement up front. Very static. Rai tv kept focussing on Ventura's actions on the sideline. He had more movement than Immobile and Belotti during the whole 90min put together.

To be fair, Conte didn't get great performances until the Euro's. The qualifiers were quite average so as much as I don't like Ventura i'll wait a little bit longer to judge him properly.

In saying that, Ventura does have a much better squad than Conte had so it's a bit worrying how we got destroyed last night

I didn't see the match last night but read the reports and if i'm honest I dont think Veratti in a 2 man midfield is a good idea. Should be building the team around the best players and giving Veratti more protection and more time on the ball in a 3 man midfield would have probably helped much more.

Stfu Zach with one game joke of a nonsense.

Seriously. Isco is a top class player, who gives a fvck if your fragile ego can't handle that fact.

Shut it lil os. We had this discussion. Isco is an insane talent. But exceptionally inefficient. Like Lucas. And I like Lucas alot.
Sometimes, they will have these games where it all works. The inefficiency is gone and they perform absurdly good. But that never lasts long.

I know you like Isco. I'm sorry if your giant ego, you cant but accept you have a considerable ego lil os, cant handle this solid reality.

Look up my posts from Isco's final year at Malaga i think, or the first at real. I was an absolute fan. My main CAM in FM (got one year where i had Costa, Lucas and Isco ;) ). But i grew tired of his insane inefficiency and gave up on him.

Your bandwagen is rather good at digging lil os. You tought them well. Ask them to dig up my posts from around the final malaga / first madrid year.

Of all the dreams I wish to come true, this is number 1.

And yes Zach, stfu. Isco has always been world class.
World class talent X legendary inefficiency = top class player who sometimes has a great game, but you cannot rely on.

Isco approaching peak Iniesta level.

Madrid have the four best midfielders in football atm.

I actually really feel bad for Verratti. Isco really humiliated him today. Time to sign with Juve son.
THis is by far and away the biggest nonsense of this thread

Isco : epitome of inefficiency. Sometimes has a good game for real, never really the big man

Iniesta : 15 years of incredible consistant world class performance. Spanish people argue wether its Xavi or him thats the greatest spanish player in history

"peak iniesta level". Fucking lol. Peak iniesta level

@Osman this is the moment to show true color. Which is more than one color

You are known as the guy who follows barcelona the most, and defends them the most without beeing an actual fan

Please inform us. Is ISCO reaching "peak Iniesta levels" ?

Not answerring will tell us alot about your nature.

Unanimously seen throughout Madrid fans as a top 5 player this season. But it doesnt matter since Zach says he's inefficient then thats that.

Yes not only is Isco going to reach the levels of peak Iniesta he is also one of the main cogs of one of the greatest midfields of all time.

He absolutely owned, dominated Verratti.
this is a retard argument. like saying "hr hr i totally beat you up" while you were taking a number of friends and beating up a lonely guy.
Let Isco play in a 2 man midfield against spain that have greater numbers and then let's talk again. Please remind me again how Isco outplayed and ridiculed Barcelona when they were still a stronger team. Oh wait, he did not, while verratti made a mockery out of their players, so shut up hans maulwurf.

This. Ventura fucked up big time.

Spanish midfield toyed with Italy's and were able to hard press easily, severing Italy's line up

Tell that to Verratti, looks like he needs some comforting.

5 vs 2 was a disadvantage from the get go. What Italy should have done is get their transition game in point, have the ball to Insigne/Candreva asap, forcing Spain to drop back. But they shouldnt have started with 2 CFs either way

are you too stupid to read ? it was NOT the numerical advantage, but purely the world class of isco that made all the difference. didn't you see how isco played with his alleged designated man marker verratti ? the formation has nothing to do with it. it was proven by our armchair football manager professionals around here. only pogba in the place of verratti could have helped italy win in that situation there!

are you for real ? of course right after the game people will be overwhelmed. do you really think that isco is even remotely on the level of messi ? it is just an exaggeration because he probably was asked about it right after the game.
Isco so good, not even Messi can reach his level  oh boy Marco, that was stupid. At least here on tuz people put him only on prime Iniesta level

Not many players can play to a world class level when their team are being outplayed and have their backs against the wall.

There must literally be less than 10 players in the world who can drag a team to victory while being dominated.

I think you're criticism of Isco is a little harsh imo

Well, PP would have man marked their entire midfield by himself while carrying the whole offense on the other side of the pitch. But that's another discussion
