kassai, the hungarian guy will be the ref for the italy-germany game. he received some harsh critics for giroud's goal during the opening match of the tournament, but has been solid otherwise.

We would have had Italy-Spain in the quarters and Italy/Spain-Germany in the semi finals had it not been for those crooked referees.

Italy would have beaten them all and lost to Brazil in the final, as usual :D

Spain-South Korea was even worse.
:agree:

Don't be surprised if those rich Arabs bribe FIFA again so we could see another South Korea-esque story in 2022.

if De Rossi cant make it, we should play 343

Buffon
BBC
Florenzi Parolo Sturaro Giacch
Eder Pelle El Shaarawy
We know what happened last time Italy played a 3-4-3 against Germany.....

But you're right, in some way the 3-4-3 would be the wisest considering Italy's available pool of players AND if Conte wants to keep the BBC intact. Only problem is that it might be too offensive, so it should be played more as a 3-4-2-1 with two attackers dropping deeper so the midfield doesn't get overrun. Also the tactics obviously change; the 3-5-2 has worked flawlessly with the 2 strikers up front, aswell as the midfield three has been absolutely essential to Italy's game. This is why I would rather keep the shape and just change one player, instead of the whole system. I trust Conte though....

that was with reserves though, a Montolivo-Motta midfield (lol) and Darmian and Acerbi as CBs

352 without a ball distributor would be defending 90 minutes without any attacking threat i think. atleast with a 343/3421 we could defend and be a threat on counters

What are they supposed to say? The victim complex is getting too strong here even for my taste and I love bitching about german media
I think it's healthier to just admit that Italy has always been a particularly difficult opponent for Italy and that if they are to become European champions, they have to overcome this obstacle. Saying there is no Italy trauma is stupid, because there clearly is. Denying stuff doesn't make them less true (cfr. Clinton).
