that was with reserves though, a Montolivo-Motta midfield (lol) and Darmian and Acerbi as CBs

352 without a ball distributor would be defending 90 minutes without any attacking threat i think. atleast with a 343/3421 we could defend and be a threat on counters
To be fair Acerbi did a great job at Sassuolo this season. Calling Montolivo/Sturaro, when Jorginho perfom better, and became starter for this season title contender is questionable indeed.

sturaro is a ~1000 min rotation player for us, and lazio were below par this season.

no doubt this is a weak midfield even for today's italian standards.
I know it's weak but Cesena standrards is harsh. Sturaro was also a starter for Genona when they were in top 10 of Serie A a year or so ago

so take an other team like bologna or genoa ;) what coyote probably wanted to say is that it's nowhere near italy's usual standards.

they still can progress, though.

Also Parolo & Giach actually played for Cesena a few years ago.

Wasn't meant literally anyways, but this midfield is poverty level
Same team with Marchisio, De Rossi and Verratti taking up the midfield roles would have been very solid imo. Sure, not as strong as they once were, but easily a top 4 side.

Now you kind of sense it might not be easy for Germany, but I can't see how on Earth Italy would win it.

Solid?

Marchisio-Verratti-De Rossi midfield would be one of, if not, the best and most balanced midfields in the tournament.
