Making it out of a weak group shouldnt surprise you, no matter how bad this Italy is. If they get a 2nd place finish they have good chances of reaching a semifinal

And those who want Giovinco should realize he competes with Insigne and El Shaarawy for a spot who both are better than him and come from great seasons with their clubs. El Shaarawy is the preferred starter because he works hard in defense and thats something you need from your wing forwards in a 3421. Insigne off the bench against tired defenses can do damage vs anyone. There is no place for Giovinco unless one of these 2 gets injured

Italy struggles with good players and he decides not to call up Berardi, Donnarumma and Romagnoli (the only one understandable decision, looking at the depth of his position). I'd even give Sansone and Giovinco a try.

I believe Malta would have had a fair chance of winning it this year. Michael Mifsud's injury really hurt us.
