Brazilian-born of Italian ancestry.

I know we'll probably lose. New manager, new team, no functional tactics, no chemistry but you never know.

To be honest, i don't mind losing friendlies. There's still a lot of time left for the real deal. If we lose it won't mean anything. back in 2001 we had one of the most humiliating defeats of all, 0-2 against Honduras, less than one year later we were winning the World Cup.
I'm just kidding with you. I actually think Brazil will take this one.

Whatever, regardless of who wins this will be a good match!

Do all Italian Brazil-citizens support Brazil? In Aus, we mostly consider Italy to be no.1, Australia 2nd. I guess the situations are a little different.
Same here in Canada. Well at least where I'm from.

Yes, pretty much. In Brazil it works a bit different from here (The US)...You're born in Brazil, you're 100% Brazilian. There's no such thing as Asian-Brazilian, African-Brazilian or anything like that. You're just Brazilian regardless of your ancestry and support Brazil.

And yes, you're right. Maybe if the team wasn't so successful through out it's history, we'd have people supporting other teams as well.

:agree: Brazil is one of the most ethnically mixed countries in the world, but when you speak to them they are all Brazilian firstly.
Exactly. And It's probably the most ethnically mixed of all, we got the biggest Italian, Japanese and German communities outside of the respectively countries. In fact, there are over 25 million Brazilians of Italian ancestry, which would take about 15% to 25% of the whole population. But enough with Brazil's geography/history...

Hoping for a good match.

I heard you also have the most important Lebanese community.

Brazil are miles ahead of Australia and Canada in football terms, that's why.

Italy plane hit by lightning
The plane carrying the Italy squad to Geneva for tomorrow’s friendly against Brazil was hit by lightning.

Reports state the plane was in the process of landing at Geneva Airport when a bolt of lightning struck.

Fortunately there were no injuries nor serious damage to the plane, which was able to land safely, but the passengers were clearly shaken by the incident.

Planes get hit by lightning all the time, it's pretty normal :D

Diamanti has become a fan-favourite over that last year.

There's just something about him that's so likeable.

Buffon
Abate - Barzagli - Bonucci - De Sciglio
De Rossi - Pirlo - Marchisio
Cerci - Balotelli - El Shaarawy

I think that's the best team we can possibly field. I'm hoping to see a mix of both. I want to see Diamanti as a trequartista, not Montolivo. I also want to see Cerci get some time as well.
