11 of them (~50%) play for Palermo, Bologna, Cesena, Genoa, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Parma and Empoli. 6 play for Juve. Juve couldn't make through the EL groups this year and the CL groups last year, but lets say that our players can win the world cup. One plays for Villarreal. Only 4 of them play in CL clubs this season.
When only 4 of your 23 players are in CL, then it gets you thinking about the quality of your team.

But I guess you expect them to become world beaters in 3 years, so fine.

This team could hardly make past the group stages if they were Serbian. Being Italian and getting a chance to play in a stronger league compared to where they'd have played if they were Serbian, I'd give them the 1st knock-out round, nothing more.

Aquilani is good and I don't think Marchisio is to be labeled as a quality player. In fact, he disappears way too much and shows inconsistency.
