Think Italy has the worst behind them. From now off they will be better again. Some clubs saw finally that it is needed to play Italian youngsters, in the last 4-6 years no good Italian came through from youth and Conte had to play with an really old squad, he did well, but after the WC 2014 they needed an refreshment.
Starting U23 players:
Juve: Bernardeschi
Milan: Donnarumma, Romagnoli, Calabria
Roma: Pellegrini
Sampdoria: Audero
Cagliari: Barella, Romagna
Fiorentina: Chiesa, Benassi
Sassuolo: Berardi, Locatelli, Sensi
Udinese: Mandragora, Scuffet
Bologna: Orsolini, Mattiello, Calabresi
Atalanta: Mancini
Brescia: Tonali
Not starting U23 worth to mention:
Rugani, Cutrone, Cristante, Petagna (only young pinchitter), Meret, Luperto, Brignola, Pellegri, Moise Kean, Zaniolo, Luca Pellegrini.
Serie B is this year full of young players if you compare it to some years ago.
I see some potential. Ofcourse not al youngsters I mentioned will reach (sub)top level, but at least some.
For me the 'hidden gems' are Filippo Romagna, Tonali and Zaniolo. See some great potential in them, but are not highly rated in media. (Tonali since a few months).
