This season:
Eder 0 goals 8 games
Balotelli 8 goals 12 games

At least Jorginho got called up. And Zaza deserved call up, 9 goals in league, only behind Messi as league top scorer.
if Ventura goes with a 3-5-2 as is rumored he should go with this

............................Buffon
.............Rugani......Bonucci......Chellini
Candreva..Derossi....Jorgihno..Verratti..Florenzi
.......................Immobile...Zaza

I think he already said Zaza is starting with Immobile.

So if Jorginho doesnt play he could still end up called up for Brazil at the World cup? Or what is that situation. He seemed linked to be called up by Brazil couple of weeks ago.

So Ace Ventura pretty much has to give him minutes here to make sure he is italian capped now? In a frigging playoff. Good job Ventura. You had months to do this.
he's on the active roster for a non friendly game, he is now an Azzurro, can't play for Brazil anymore, doesn't matter if he plays 90 minutes or cheers from the bench, he is on the team.

352 :touched:

Benching Insigne, his best Attacking player.

Yeah. Sounds like Ventura.

We have decent wingers, play a 433 and make use of them.

Ventura hasn't said anything about starting Zaza though.

He didn't comment on formations except for saying that there is no obsession with the 4-2-4 as he has used others in this tenure. That Jorginho didn't have space before because of the system, but that going forward he does.

The squad is good. The call up is pretty much on point. Only Gabbiadini doesn't deserve to be there at all. Now its up to Ventura to give us the best chance to succeed with the right tactics and for the players to come through.

Ventura:

“If there was a period without wingers, we couldn’t play with wingers. If Italian football produces wingers, we’ll play with wingers."
What about Insigne and El Sha?

By that logic italy should just stop playing, or only play CB's.

hmm interesting. We'll see if he plays him.
Jorginho's agent came out to say that it doesn't matter if he plays or not, that he wants to play for Italy as he had always wanted to. That no matter what, he is not going to Brazil. The whole thing was basically the agent putting pressure for the call up. Jorginho has been in Italy for over a decade or so, since he was a kid. He always wanted the azzurri.

If you look closely at that squad, there are a lot of midfielders who are really forwards: Candreva, El Sharaawy, Insigne, and Bernardeschi. De Rossi, Florenzi, Jorginho, Verratti, Gagliardini and Parolo are the true mids with Florenzi usually used in wide wing back style roles.
