It was absolute suicide to put the team out there like that tonight. Ridiculous.

----buffon----
Darmian--Barzagli--Bonu--Spina
---verratti-De Rossi-Pellegrini---
-------------Bernardeschi----------
----------Belotti---Insigne------------

I seriously enjoyed Spains game, it was like a combo of that tiki taka and real fluidity like the current Zidane's Madrid, though i must say Italy didnt put enough to pose any threat.. Isco is an absolute gem..!

As things stand Bernardeschi offers nothing tbh. He was on the pitch for 20 minutes and did nothing at all. He's out of form, yet he hides behind Spain's midfielders, lol.

If I was Ventura I'd have mirrored Spain's 433 just to (at least try to) fight back in the midfield. It's beyond me why Berardi doesn't get a chance tbh, he might be grumpy but the kid has very good numbers. Instead you're forced to watch the likes of Candreva and Eder, lol.

As someone here said it's a suicide to play a 2 man mid vs Spain, add to that a Verratti - DDS pair. Italy needed a pure B2B runner there so it'd be easier to cover some ground and press from time to time.

Ventura is a retard but it has to be said that these Italian players are vastly overrated. No movement, no passing, no willingness to sacrifice, anything. Everything so slow. They don't look like a team, unlike Spain.

Ultimately Italy could have lost by one or ten goals and it made no difference, they had to win really and Ventura tried to play for that, conceding first meant it was 95% (probably more) certain Spain would get their result.

Belotti and Immobile together makes no real sense on paper. Drop blockhead out and get Bernardeschi floating around in the Dybala position, Candreva or whoever can play the authentic RM role between defence and attack.

Not calling up Jorginho is a big mistake as well !

Belotti
Insigne - Bernardeschi
Jorginho - Gagliardini - Verratti
Spinnazola - Bonucci - Rugani - Conti

I respectfully disagree with regards to Barza. Yes, Bono was bad but a younger Barza would have saved his ass by getting in between the ball and the scorer. Look how he turns his head for a split second to see goal scorer's position and his zero burst of speed burns him.

First of all Bonucci is nowhere to be found in the formation. He is in his own half, yards behind the rest of the team. Look how Morata is by himself but is still allowed to receive and turn with the ball. It all starts right there. Bonucci should be in Spain's half, closer to Morata to begin with.
