Motta is injured, and De Rossi maybe for similar reason.

Next game, against Ireland, Prandelli should rest Pirlo and Cassano, and maybe one or more key/obvious players, and play a midielf of: Nocerino - Montolivo - Marchisio with Giovinco as Trequartista and Rossi and Pazzini up top. Test some fringe/back up players a bit.

Motta injured, but De Rossi suspended because of the elbow, no?

So would you guys say Montolivo>Aquilani so far?
For the NT, defenitely based on last games. Its clear that Prandelli has a very positive effect on Montolivo so far (though Monto was one few decent ones in WC too). He plays with more calm and confidence under Prandelli, his qualities shines through, and less of the typical flaws, which is mainly mentally for him. Tends to play bit scared/nervous at his worst.

Yeah, Aquilani's flaw is his mentality also. Looks like Mont at least can overcome his. I wouldn't mind him here tbh, it seems like he compliments Pirlo in a very nice way.

Estonia basically folded at 2-0 but at least they tried. This Italy is far removed from Lippi's in 2010, the emphasis is based on the team movement, give and go, making the players look better as individuals. You could say the same about other teams I guess, but football is much easier when you have the ball for 70% of the match like here, and Italy were playing in a low gear. So in terms of this match not spectacular but entertaining and some nice goals, but the overall impression under Prandelli is much greater.
