Me too, you can say "Italia doesn't care about friendlies" as much as you want, but there was no excuse for drawing with Luxembourg. England looked decent (from what I saw) despite drawing their match too - and Ecuador aren't exactly pushovers either. What worries me most and I believe someone else already mentioned this, is that the team still looks to be in the experimental stage. It's everyone's guess what formation is going to be used.

I think the injury to Montolivo might prove a bit costly tbh. He interpreted the trequartista role nicely in the 4-3-1-2, now it seems that Prandelli is scrambling to find a way to play differently as no other CM Italy has can properly play the trequartista role.

IMO he should drop these plans of 4-1-3-1-1/4-3-2-1 and just play the 4-3-3. Start Cerci-Balotelli-Cassano and see how it goes I guess.

Just hope for their sake that the last of the cobwebs are shaken off and they start hitting form very soon. England game is vital.

Did I say that he was? He most definitely has more experience than the likes of Insigne and Immobile.

I'd have taken him (even if it meant one extra striker), over someone as useless as Aquilani, who contributes absolutely nothing. A truly pathetic player with a weak mentality.

I don't no why people over analyze friendlies - remember after Russia in 2012?

anybody smell that? Smells like the 2010 world cup......

Ya was hoping De Rossi do be more terrier like but he didn't show much in today's game.

Prandelli is really destroying our records, loss against the Ireland, USA and now Russia. Cassano and Monto was horrible out there.
Spain, Ireland and Croat will have their morale boosted with our defeat.

Meh an Average Italy team, not expecting much, I predicted long ago that they will get knocked out the group stage

at least I would do better then Prandelli :D

IMO, that's the best they can hope for. Mark my words: Italy's leading scorer in the tournament will have 1 goal.

Anyways the coach should pick a formation that fits to his strenghts and i doubt the current talents favor 3-5-2
But as I said some time back, I'm not sure Italy's going to qualify.

Friendlies mean nothing. I still do think they will qualify, but won't make it past the QFs, unless they get extremely lucky and have a favorable draw (like in 2006 when they faced Australia and Ukraine en route to the Semis).

Maybe playing with so many CMs on the field is also adding to the confusion. Way too cluttered in the middle. It's worrying that Prandelli still doesn't have a set formation one week out from the World Cup.
or he does and he's not showing his hand.

I don't know if you could call that luck. They won their group, they deserved a good draw in the 2nd round. Ukraine wasn't a push over that year and then they went on to beat Germany at home to reach the Finals where they outplayed France and should have won with that Toni header goal which was called offsides. That WC title was well earned.

Nice :D

That England games worries me now.
worries me too, but then again every Italy wc game has always worried me

Italy is ready for the WC. I saw 10 minutes of football from Italy I love.

Italy uses these friendlies as practice games, literally. They experiment, try things, and really could care less for the result. The tie yesterday bugged me as a fan, as all the friendly games do because I always want to see my team win but inside I know it means nothing. Now if Germany were to tie with Luxembourg I would say RED FLAG, what's wrong with them because they always go for the win no matter what.

dont see why people are STILL so worked up over that draw. Italy could lose to faroe islands in a friendly FFS.

has never meant shit about how they perform in tournaments when it matters and it wont this time either.

Wow luckily Balotelli has a magnificent smile.
he's fucking with cassano's hair. :D

think i one of the italy players mentioned something about this before. They keep balotelli distracted at events like this so he behaves.
