tbh it wasn't even a yellow. He got more of the ball.

Gio was poor besides the nice pass. Needs to demand the ball more like Cassano.
But as usual, the Italian attack looks bad because they get very little support.

Anyway i think this game is a must win because of GD.

Balo needs to be more lethal and be more intelligent with his runs. I like the way he got through Ramos with so much ease, unlucky to not get a call and took so much time with the ball.

Jose Mourinho has praised the defensive performance of Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi during Italy’s 1-1 draw with Spain.

The capital star was used yesterday as a central defender in a three-man defence and impressed onlookers with his display.

“De Rossi was great,” the Real Madrid tactician noted. “He was definitely one of the best Italians in that game.

“I think that the Azzurri could go far in this competition.”

While the former Inter boss was complimentary about the Azzurri, he was critical of the Spanish game plan.

“Spain’s error was giving Andrea Pirlo too much space because he is a player who always creates problems for the opposition,” Mourinho continued.

“Spain also decided to start without a striker and their offensive play up there was sterile as a result.

“The combinations between Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas are useless if you don’t put Gigi Buffon in any kind of trouble.”

DeRossi was important because he can take playmaking duties wen Pirlo is pressed/and or gives Pirlo some freedom to move forward. Not sure what he'll do next match, maybe have solid FB's this time.

Cassano---Balotelli
Motta-Pirlo-Marchisio
DeRossi
Balzac-Chiellini-Bonucci-Abate

Then bring on Monto or Diamanti when Pirlo gets tired... hopefully Cassano can last longer.
