Italy were basically wasting time at the end like they were happy with a draw??? And Northern irish coach cheered for the draw when it ended. Says it all :p

Oh yeah, its not a fantastic result, but its a pretty typical Azzurri result, they always manage at least one 0-0 draw away from home in in their qualification groups.

But they really do have to beat Serbia on Tuesday though to get a firm grip on the leadership of the group. They're really lacking a Christian Vieri type bomber. Borriello is absolute fucking pants.

Yeah I didnt get it either, but I expect Il Pazzo start against Serbia on Tuesday...(or whenever the qualifier is played)

I guess they can be happy they kept another clean sheet as well. I really really like Cassani, he's such an under-rated fullback. He defended and got forward really well.

Yup, Prandelli seems to have chosen the right guys for defense. Cassano upfront, de Rossi in the middle and Gigi in goal is probably pretty clear too, but it feels like anything is possible in the other positions. Hopefully Giovinco can make it to 2012.

Why didn't Rossi start,he was great against the faroes, and borriello doesn't deserve anymore chances,if Italy want a player to miss 1 on 1 then they better use Iaquinta..

I've wondered for a long time why Italy doesn't produce strikers who can actually score. Pazzini is the clear number 1 for now and should start when available but other than that the situation is dreadful. They should probably use Quag or even Di Natale at this point.

Barely. He's not more of a finisher than IQ. Pazzini is the no 1 striker for the Azzuri. Amauri comes second if he finds his 2008 form
