@Madvillain
WTF are you on about. This about the attacking 'line-up', not pulling big names out of a hat.

The only one that is comparable is Totti-Vieri-ADP vs South Korea and how did they do?
For ever, Italy's attack has been dysfunctional in big tournaments, that should be obvious.
And all other line-ups were 2 strikers at most.
A trident of Gio-Balo-Cass has some potential.

vs South Korea
61mins
Sub- Gattuso in for ADP
Thanks Trap, for fk-all.
89 min Unbelievable - Vieri's has missed the easiest chance of the tournament. Di Livio whipped a brilliant low cross in and Vieri, six-yards out and with the goal gapping, blasts it over!!!!

What a nightmare that was.

That happens to everyone. South Korea was favored a lot in that game. What an annoying game it was.

My memory of that tournament will be Byron Moreno with his over-elaborate waving away gesture whenever South Korea committed a foul. LOL, he just had this completely gormless 'nothing to do here' look on his face as he sprinted away from each protest.

Nocerino/De Rossi/Marchisio over 2006 Gattuso is stupid by the way, in case I didn't make that clear. Gattuso was on another level, even though the comparison is dodgy.

It was pretty much like this, with Perrotta playing more as a LM than as a winger. Perrotta is an average player indeed but he was actually effective in that formation, he did his job. He allowed Grosso to get forward a lot while covering some ground to enable Pirlo to concentrate on dictating the play.
It was that. Perrotta worked himself hard on the left and Grosso provided the overlapping runs which Pirlo reads perfectly for some reason. That was Perrotta's role, he might be an average footballer but that was what he did in a world cup winning team.

"With Liga de Quito trailing 3–2 at the end of the match, Moreno signalled six minutes of injury time, then allowed play to continue for thirteen minutes, during which Liga de Quito scored an equaliser in the 99th minute, then won the game in the 101st minute."

I have two memories from that tournament, extremely horrible haircuts topped with Ronaldo's appearance in the final and José Antonio Camacho's sweaty underarms.

Criscito left out of the Euro squad because of his alleged role in the betting scandal.

Who will be Italy's starting LB now? I don't trust Balzaretti, hopefully Prandelli will call De Ceglie or Santon.
