Loved him in Benfica, didn't like him for Belgium at all, so not sure what to think of this

Only played his natural role for Belgium v Ireland and he was great that game. Awful if he's played as a DM though.

Good point. Just look at Tevez now compared to when he was with us. That season he was one of the best strikers in the world and now we've sort of forgotten to count him in there anymore. Witsel could very well become a starter here and in no time be rated a top class midfielder.

Come on, even you know that's a bad comparison. Van Persie showed quality, had quality. This guy.. well a very long time ago. We are not getting someone proven.

That's my point the difference in price to Van Persie coming off an incredible season isn't that much.

I agree not a good comparison but many say what a good deal it is but probably laughed at Man Utd.

I think this is the type of player that fits in well with a team that is already strong. If you ask him to pull something out of his afro you will probably be disappointed but I think he is good enough to hold his position, win the ball and move the ball to our high-priced attack quickly.

He's either an AM or a box to box midfielder. He needs tactical freedom to perform well.
