I hope Witsel becomes captain of the Belgium national team and Wilmots remains their coach until he dies.
Hope the Witsel rumours are concrete and true. What an addition he would be :tuttosport:

This guy reminds me of David Luiz. He got funny looking hair, he is overprized and although he got all the fysical attributes in the world his lack off tactical sense makes him a joke of a player. I would take Asamoah, Khedira and Perreyra as CM over this guy any day of the week. I dont get why we are after another midfielder. We have 7 players for 3 positions. Eventhough 3 of them are out injured at this point in time we still have the position covered. Meanwhile we only have one player who can play AM and he is a lot better as a CM. Buy an AM who could make a difference today or in the future or close the mercato and save the money.

I take it most of you are not fans of Witsel. I have never seen him play so cannot say. Is he a Pirlo style midfielder? More of a ball winner? what are his characteristics?

This video shows his regular game pretty well:
I always considered him a box-to-box CM but he is pretty versatile so can play in all areas of a diamond midfield.

Browsing Chelsea forums they were saying that the problem with Witsel wasnt caused by Zenit but his salary demands, wonder how much he wants to earn.

The only resemblence between the two is their speed. Other than that Pirlo would still be miles ahead if he were about 60 years old.

Witsel is an improved Padoin always playing it safe, but only slower.
