They haven't been anywhere near as unlucky. They've played in 10 finals, won 5... Which is approximately right considering the luck factor in a cup final makes it much more of a 50/50 proposition. Juventus winning 2 of 8 shows terrible luck, and if you've watched out CL finals you would see that. Even the 3-1 loss to Dortmund was ridiculous in that they scored every single chance they had that match.
And not mentioning Trapatoni's Juve as one of the strongest club teams ever is hilarious. They won everything.
You are massively overexxagerating the prestige and importance of the European Cup pre-Champion's League era (or at least pre-1980s and the modern era of football).
There was nowhere near the money, nor the prestige attached to it that there is today. Juventus, and this obvious and stated by most everyone associated with the club, didn't give a rat's ass about the competition before the 80s.

at Juve fans discrediting our European history through the 80s and 90s. Only 1 club in the world had more success in Europe through that period. Milan. And in large part because we just had terrible luck in CL finals.
