The price is low but not by much (15-20 mill extra would be nice) but yeah regardless of money the problem is letting him go in the first place. The only situation where I'd accept him going is if a mega offer came in that cannot be refused not a sale at a discount.

Which other midfielders have gone for prices considerably bigger than 40M ? Modric at the same age got sold for 40 mil , rakitic for 20 mil , kongdobia for 30 mil (but he is also an investment for the future) . Kroos 20 mil last year of contract so assuming that he has more than 1 year most probably his fee would have been in the 40 mil region . Martinez 40 mil at 24 years old . Fabregas 33 milion at 27 years old .

Seriously we got what his price was at the moment , at his top vidals price was in the 50 mil region , that would probably be second year of conte imho . With 2 years more a rising desire to leave and coming from a not so great season , 40 mil is the right price range imho .

If thats the case then Dybala's price was certainly crazy. Either Vidal was too low or Dybala was too high. You can't maintain that both are fair.

vidal's price was acceptable for me. we certainly overpayed (took a huge risk, you name it) for dybala.

I do think we overpaid a little on dybala , but attackers as a rule of thumb always cost more than defenders and midfielders and there is also the age factor .
