I allways advocated understanding and not getting exaggerated and riled up over the ones who left after Calcipoli. But I gotta say...How could you possibly ask this question?

If it's about being professional and all that (loyalty is for the story books blah), both took the better opportunities. And it was 1000 times more understandable for Thuram and Zambrotta than it is for Vidal. If it's about the shitty comments, i'm equally gutted by what Vidal had to say. Heck i even understand why a player might have felt cheated by the club back then but i don't understand how Juve, a CL finalist, is not a big club. I'm not defending what say Thuram did but i don't see how his case is any different from Vidal's. A Serie B Juve was definitely not good enough for our world class players; Vidal thinks this Juve was not good enough for him.

Ill preface by saying im saying this to say we should have or should not have sold him or wether this was our best midfiekd ever or anything. One day we will look back and remember how crazy it was to have Vidal,Pogba,Pirlo, and Marchisio in the same midfield. We will watch videos and show our kids how these midfielders tormented other teams of the highest level. How they could completely dominate a game and have everything including grinta, flair,poise and that little bit of extra heart. It was good to have them together and its time to start a new chapter. Problem with Vidal wouldn't be a lack of motivation, this is how fans like to see it. He's a professional, what does it mean to be unmotivated when you are pretty much risking your career? Had Trezeguet and Camo had more serious suitors (they were not young and not at their prime), willing to pay a tempting transfer fee, Juve would have sold them. You have a player who wants to leave, the club that wants him pays you 40m, and you doubt you'd be able to get the same money even one year later: you sell. It's easier to compare Vidal's situation to Zidane's imo.

That would make sense in this case if we needed the money - we don't. Or if we can make the team better with the money - we'll see.

That's almost certainly the case. He said Bayern were one of the three best clubs along with Madrid and Barca. He obviously wasn't going to either of those clubs (no bids made for him) so once Bayern came calling, he decided he wanted to go there.

But nah, Marotta forced him out and should have started a non-existent bidding war

@The Cusp I remember you and I were one of the first to say he wants to leave us for Bayern not for money but because he thinks they are a bigger club and have a much better chance of winning the CL.

We are also on the same page regarding Tevez.He's a far bigger loss than Vidal at this point.
Tevez was one of the top 5 strikers in Europe last season.It's going be to harder to replace him.

I said the same just before he made those disrespectful comments. No wonder people say Chileans are the scum of South America.

He probably wanted to leave because he thought he'd never achieve European glory at Juventus and that our best chance of doing so was blown against Barcelona (I think he sees us as a B. Dortmund or Atletico Madrid), so he chose the easier path and now is going to Bayern. That's why I can't respect him now. Not a true warrior.
