I understand that they are different times, but that wasn't my point. My point is this club has been known to do this before, with arguably better players, so this shouldn't come as a total shock.
Certainly shocks me. Given that this deal was never on the cards. Player said before going to the Copa that he wants to end his career with our shirt. DG said a week ago we won't sell our best players, unless they ask to leave. And out of the blue, his agent is Munich agreeing personal terms. I hope Allegri hasn't initiated this because he's played him AM a few times, and thinking with Khedira they needed a true AM. I would just disagree completely with the club if they need to sell a pillar of the team to finance a position in a season we made the CL final. Vidal wasn't at the end of his cycle with us, and he's certainly a big reason why we are where we are in the last four years.

But by how much?

Maybe I am missing something, but you are losing some in the midfield (even though the times where Asamoah has played a more central role he has been very good), but gaining in the LB and the much needed AM position.
true.

and even if its sad to see him leaving, €45m for a 28 (no, its not old) year old CM (not fancy)
is not bad. also it might be the last time to get that amount of money for him.

...but yeah...selling pogba would be better.

You're not losing some in midfield. You are losing a lot. Vidal, bar the first half of last season, always did the work of 2 players combined. He is that great. And if you think we're getting Gotze of Isco instead, you must be joking. The max we'd be able to get is Oscar, and that would be pretty fucking disappointing. Our LB is already awesome with Evra and Asamoah. We need to improve in the other flank.

If there is any truth to this story then I don't think for a second Vidal asked for the move out of nowhere, the lifestyle here suits him more than Germany ever did, for a start. He was always happy.

Maybe something has happened behind the scenes. Maybe Juve think he is never going to consistently be able to deliver his best performances anymore. Maybe this is all just bs, those Chileans have been working this angle for so long.

Really REALLY a bad move for us !! In fact it's a disaster if it happens.

The biggest assets and the engine of this team that carried us to the CL final last season are Vidal, Pogba, Tevez and ofcourse Buffon.

We already lost Tevez this summer (something we can somewhat live with), Pogba seems like leaving eventually whether this summer or next but he's diffenetly leaving (specially when you have Raiola as your agent) and to lose a key player like Vidal too is just a disaster literally.

By the way I'm a huge Gotze fan and I'd love to see him here but not while losing Vidal that's just stupid, really.

Let's hope it's just rumors because if it's not then we'll regret this decision big time in the future.
