Didn't like the way he played tonight (or maybe this whole season). His pass accuracy was something like 50% and he's too nonchalant. Like he don't give a shit sometimes. And those wrong passes was pretty short. Not much room for mistake, just easy short passes. He was good enough for defence though.

Pereyra should start before him. Much better overall.

I hope he steps up his game cause Atletico will not forgive that kind of mistakes he did against mediocre Malmö.

50% ?? - Nice estimate.

From whoscored: 87.8% pass accuracy. 5 key passes - nobody else had more than 2.

Definitely improving especially going forward, I don't think it was likely that he would stay in bad form for a long while. Not the first time he was in bad form anyway.

Criticising Vidal is the cool thing to do around here these days. It was a solid performance. Not his best but not bad by any means.

Decent performance but I still feel this role isn't suited to him. One of Vidal's major strengths is pressing, harassing and winning the ball. Playing in the hole doesn't really allow him to do that as well. Would much rather Pogba in a more attacking role with his through balls, dribbling and great shot.

This. I'm surprised Allegri hasn't tried Pogba in this position yet.

he was naturally tracking back from the number 10 position. clearly he is not an AM he is a box to box. his best attributes is when he defends or makes unexpected runs from midfield. pogba has shown that he works well with tevez and has the attributes to play number 10.

I think using him in this advanced role gives him an opportunity to get his fitness back. Throwing him back in a b2b role he wouldn't last a full game and a waste of a sub. I think if it's a choice of Vidal getting fitness or someone better in the position Alegri is gonna choose Vidal because getting him back to his usual levels trumps Pereyra playing even if he is more suited.
