Report: Juve unhappy with Chile

Reports in the Chilean Press have claimed that the national team have received a complaint from Juventus regarding Arturo Vidal’s recovery.

The 27-year-old had minor knee surgery last month, and has been in a race against time to be fit for Chile’s first game of the World Cup against Australia this evening.

Stories suggest that the Bianconeri man is likely to feature at some point, but Emol Deportes have revealed that the Serie A champions have been unhappy with Jorge Sampaoli’s side for their treatment of Vidal.

The former Bayer Leverkusen enforcer played in their friendly against Northern Ireland a few weeks ago, despite protestation from Antonio Conte’s team.

And the paper have revealed that the Turin outfit have written to the national team to declare their unhappiness at his rush back to the field.

Juve are thought to be concerned that Vidal could re-injure the meniscus in his knee, as he angles to play in Brazil.

Chilean newspaper El Mercurio confirmed a phone call from Juventus team doctor, Dr.Tencone which warned Chile FF about Vidal's condition. Juventus informed the Chile FF if Vidal gets serious injury they will have to pay compensation for the damage done .

I don't get it. They got lucky having the easiest match in the group first so Vidal could be rested and ready for the two difficult ones. Why force it and risk his condition becoming worse? They're potentially shooting themselves in the foot.

If he is not ready he wont play. Relax and enjoy the wc.
Oh, I'll enjoy the WC, buddy. Would be nice if your point turns out to be true, also. Unfortunately with these situations, a player often thinks they're ready and has a set back. Happens frequently. Still lots of time before the season kicks off for Vidal to recover, I just don't want the extra wear and tear on our best player's knee -- or for Vidal to fuck something else up, because his body is compensating for an existing injury.

I'd love to see him excel for Chile, get more of the international respect he deserves.

This is a disaster waiting to happen. Do people really think Chile gives a shit about Vidal's knee? They need him for like 3-5 games and then they have a 4 year break. They don't care if he has to rehab for 6 months after the World Cup.

Vidal is a warrior and will play on one leg and still be better than whatever backups they have so Chile will just run him into the ground.

Hopefully Chile are playing him out of spite, and he picks up a further 3-4 week injury. I can't see why else they would risk him for tougher games with Spain and Netherlands.

It sucks big time, he's not prepared for the tournament, he might get injured, can't give 100%. Polish commentators all the time referred to him as the biggest star in Chile's NT, more important than Sanchez, the heart of the team and he can't show his abilities.
