He needs to think about his future ffs Yeah, playing for NT is great honor for every footballer out there and having an opportunity to represent your country on the WC is arguably one of the biggest achievements, but if he's not ready yet, if he's starting to feel pain in his knee, why force it and risk to pick long term injury.

I'd always prefer that the likes of Modric, Mandzukic, Rakitic and the others skip the WC if they aren't feeling well rather than pushing them over their limits. No one will benefit in the end.

He could barely walk in the last training. It's pratically impossible to play a game in those condition, therefore he wouldn't "fuck up" anything. If his condition gets better, then no problem for Chile, but that looks unlikely. However, the risks of "fucking up" the knee are not as high as someone is suggesting. Let's remember that he played nearly a month of matches with us between March and April with the same problem, and what happened? It's not like if the dude is a glass that gets broken with grass in the pitch. It looks like more a debilitation that goes and comes rather that something that is waiting to crack out. The only sure thing is that he needs a plain rest to totally recover (until July, as said the medician that operatd him).
