You're probably right but he has been having a number of shots "towards" goal this season far. The number of shots ON the goal however has been very low. It looks to me like he has a good shooting technique and so on, I don't know what he's lacking. But he needs to find his shot on goal a lot more before I want him to execute more long shots.
