I want to see Marchisio hustling, tackling and imposing himself on games. Scoring is nice but it's not his job.

this season he has played all games in center mdifield, and his role has been the all rounder midfielder with slighlty more defensive duties.

I expect that his fans will continually bring up the few stand out performances (like against Milan and Parma) to justify the 20+ other poor games he has this season. Expect any mistake by Vidal to be scrutinized endlessly as well.

I wasn't impressed with Vidal at the Copa America either but to be fair to him alot of big players underperformed and he was used in a variety of roles.

I don't agree that he would have been MOTM without his goals. Marchisio was excellent going forward and linking up in the first half but he faded hard in the second.

Marchisio is definitely a better passer than Vidal, but I'd add the versatibility to the Vidal plus group and would take the pressing, as Marchisio can easily be a beast in that department.

Who'd you choose, then? I can only see Vucinic, Vidal and probably Pirlo as fair options, but even considering those, I think Marchisio performed better. Linked up our play, pressed as he should and generally did less mistakes than the others.

And this season he is playing in his natural role with consistency, and what is he doing? Proving you all wrong...again...and again...and again. Amazing how well one can play when they get to play in their natural role.

They are so fucking predictable. Like I said earlier. If the next game Marchisio makes ONE bad pass the entire forum will hear about it. Guaranteed.

As far as the second part. It's like you never read our posts. Today no one brought his name up except you boys. I was talking strictly about Vidal's below par performance.

Don't be fooled by the assist rate that was brought every time, i remember Alen posting videos of his 10 or so assits and none of them was a fantastic pass that broke the defence ( Pirlo like ) and Marchisio is definetely a better passer and superior technique wise, and passing isn't something you forget i watched Vidal in Coppa America and freindlies with Chili and his games with us and i always saw an average passer definetely not better than Marchisio but people will always say oh he had 10 assists in Bundesliga, go see those assists and you'll notice that none of them was a special pass.
And i like Vidal cause his bring another aspect to our game but so far Marchisio is doing a better job thus he's been granted a starting spot.

But in all seriousness, that pass Vidal gave to Marchisio for his take-and-volley attempt was inspired, to say the least.

In the Copa, he didn't play very well but that can happen to every player, you know?? Don't even get me started on Marchisio's wonderful world cup.

Against Spain, he was played as a left back. You can't really blame him for that, can't you?

But in all seriousness, that pass Vidal gave to Marchisio for his take-and-volley attempt was inspired, to say the least.

That was a simple pass but Marchisio ball control was superb and if you noticed that he brought the ball from the back to the front oh his right foot and shot it without hitting the ground and the move was so difficult that he couldn't find strength to his shot.

Who'd you choose, then? I can only see Vucinic, Vidal and probably Pirlo as fair options, but even considering those, I think Marchisio performed better. Linked up our play, pressed as he should and generally did less mistakes than the others.

Personally I didn't think there was one particular standout performer. Vucinic, Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo, Chiellini all had very good games.

Against Spain, he was played as a left back. You can't really blame him for that, can't you?

No i don't blame cause i never saw him as a great passer as some of you do, playing LB or CB don't make you forget how to pass, Marchisio had his share of bad games but passing wise it's clear that he's superior to Vidal as evidence by all the games played this year.
